Saturday and Catching up!

Saturday, and Catching up for the Week.

Apparently too soon, I thought life was back to normal. Hubby took off a couple of days this week. His original plans changed from a WV trip to working around the house and yard. Today, I’m combining Good Fences, Willy Nilly Friday 5, Random 5 Friday, Friday’s Huntand Today’s FlowersI look forward to visiting you very soon!

I apologize for the wonky format. I thought switching to the WordPress new editor would help straighten it out, but it didn’t. It’s taken all afternoon to get this written, not inclined to start over.

Friday’s Hunt v1.20 features Starts with T, Week’s Favorite, and Evening.

T is for the Tiny bunny we saw on our walk.
My Week’s Favorite features a Good Fence.
Evening on the water.                                                                                                                                                                                                Randomness:                                                                                                                                                                                               1. Thursday, hubby joined me in a six-mile hike at First Landing State Park. It was 70 degrees with a light breeze – perfect hiking weather.                                                                                                                                                                                                      2. Friday we worked on defining the flower bed with edging until it rained, then we came inside where he worked on the downstairs bathroom. I’m delighted to see the border on the wall!

                                    3. Our wildflower garden is springing to life.

Today’s Flowers
Catmint in the front, Bearded Iris in the back, overshadowed by the Loropetalum.                                                                                 4. My Fitbit Charge’s band separated and I’m replacing it with a Fitbit Blaze – and it came today! Now I need to get busy and put some steps on it. I’ve been without it for 3.5 days, so what should have looked like a really good week won’t show up on my weekly report. <insert whining>                                                                                                                                                                                                                     5. My assistance is needed in the backyard. Have a great weekend!

Monday Madness/Randomness

Monday Madness Randomness

1. Found these pretties in my wildflower garden today.

Golden Poppy

2. I had a couple visitors while I was out there, too.

American Robin
Northern Mockingbird

3. Hubby moved the birdbaths to mow the lawn. I snapped a shot of Lady Mallard standing where the birdbath was supposed to be.

4. Sunday afternoon we took a short drive. It looks like the fishing is good here.

Two Great Egrets and a Great Blue Heron. There were two more egrets out of the frame.

5. Hubby’s coworkers gave him a gift card to a nice little bistro. We used it Sunday evening.

Random 5 Friday

Random 5 Friday

1. A recycling event takes place at Mount Trashmore Saturday. I should be helping hubby…

2. Today’s been a productive day–paperwork, card-making, a little weeding, feeder scrubbing, birdbath filling–I even vacuumed before going out to play. My back is doing much better!

3. I should have taken pictures–I potted dwarf marigolds and sedum. Will have to post those next week.

4. This week, someone purchased a winning lottery ticket about a block from our house–$3,000,000!

5. Our son-in-law was cleared by his doctor earlier this week to run a 50-mile race tomorrow (Saturday). He’d had a stress fracture in his leg. Go Charlie!

Have a great weekend! Hubby says there’s a trip to Lowe’s and/or Home Depot in our future. Do you have plans?

Random 5 Friday

Random 5 Friday

1. We’ve had some warm days this week! No, I’m not getting much of anything else done besides play outside. There’s rain in the forecast for Saturday–I can catch up laundry and housework while hubby works part of the day.

2. Today got into the 80s, so I took the camera for a walk at Norfolk Botanical GardenIt needed to get out of the house, too.

3. The flowers in this bed at the entrance SMELLED SO GOOD!

4. I got a new feeder for Goldfinches and other small birds. I finally gave up on the mesh “sock.”

5. Had my annual “girl” check-up today, told my doctor I thought my warranty must have expired. She gladly renewed it for me. 🙂 She’s great.

Happy Easter!

Random 5 Friday

1. Friday managed to get away from me again–and now Saturday is gone, too! Friday was cold and rainy, and I probably should have stayed home. Hubby was off to visit his dad and I hoped to get some things done around the house; I bustled about getting materials for art projects, drawer organization, birdseed, and a quick stop at the grocery store. Saturday I woke with a stiff neck and could hardly move my arms.

2. I did get three kitchen drawers organized and a birthday card made, so the day wasn’t a total loss.

3. Wrapped in a heating pad, I started watching Ray Stevens videos on YouTube. I didn’t know he’d made Rayality TV.

4. Our church will have two morning services for Palm Sunday.

5. I found a flavored coffee creamer this week that complements the Chocolate Almond coffee–Irish Cream.

Random 5 Friday

Here are my five random thoughts for this week:

1. The male and female Red-bellied Woodpeckers showed up at the same time this week! I usually see one or the other. Though we’ve had them visit in previous years, I’ve never seen young ones. Maybe that will change this year.

Red-bellied Woodpecker, female
Red-bellied Woodpecker, male

2. The squirrels are demanding equal time.

Gray squirrel

3. The first day of spring brought rain and fog. This evening, wind gusts rattle the window.

4. I stopped by Hancock Fabrics for Fray Check (the last bottle had dried out) and found myself a party dress. Ok, it’s not quite my size, but Miss B, our Little Red, has an April birthday. Can’t wait to see her in it.

5. I have chocolate almond ground coffee that isn’t as good as I’d hoped. I keep trying flavored syrups and creamers to “fix” it, but it’s still not palatable. Yesterday I discovered Bailey’s Toffee Almond Creamer at the store. It is so good, I’m not sure I want to ruin it with coffee.

Random 5 Friday–the Monday-after version

Random 5 Friday

1. Plans are made to be changed–at least that’s what I’ve heard. We intended to drive to our daughter’s Friday evening, but things got moved around during the week, so we aimed for Saturday morning–which came and went. It’s amazing how many delays one can experience in a short amount of time. Finally, at 3:30 Saturday afternoon, we were on our way. Did I mention it rained?

2. Sunday turned out to be warm and sunny, so we filled two SUVs with people and headed for Old Town Fredericksburg.

3. We found evidence spring is near!

4. Some had ice cream,

and I saw a horse-drawn carriage. (This one’s for you, Dianna K.)

No Loitering–what a rebel!

5. Today, I discovered redbud trees in bloom in our area!
