Wordy Wednesday–Go Charlie!

Wordy Wednesday

On this Wednesday, I can’t keep quiet!

Our “Favorite” SIL will participate in the OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) World Championships this weekend. His excitement and anticipation are contagious. (Sorry, I stole your picture.)

Here’s a link to his Facebook page, in case you’d stop by, hit the “Like” button, and tell him his “Favorite” mother-in-law sent you.

Within the last two years, he’s trained hard, worked out, and pushed himself further than I thought humanly possible. I’m pretty sure he’s smoked his fitness tracker with miles run!

I want to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his upcoming races. Go Charlie!

Checking in

It’s late Monday, I returned home this evening from my weekend stay with the grandkids.  Hubby had planned to go with me, but wasn’t up for a trip after aggravating his back. His chiropractor suggested he take it easy this weekend–and he’s improving. We have an excursion planned, so it’s in his best interest to be roadworthy!

Rain was my travel companion, Saturday.

Our eldest granddaughter is preparing for a month-long mission trip to Guatemala.

A carful of lovely young ladies.

The youngest ones on a recent race day, Tough Mudder, Obstacle Course Racing (OCR).

Good Fences #34

Good Fences #34

There were a lot of fences and gates at the recent Obstacle Course Race (OCR) venue, Belvedere Plantation.  I was first introduced to it a number of years ago as “The Pumpkin Patch.” It’s where the grandchildren went each fall to pick a pumpkin. It’s a wonderful place to visit and has something for everyone.

Our nine-year-old granddaughter zooms by.

A Bald Eagle flew overhead as we were approaching the venue from the parking lot. Of course, I didn’t have the camera ready to go.

Linking to Good Fences–Thanks, Theresa!

Share Your World–2014 Week 28

I missed Share Your World last week, so I’m rarin’ to go this week! Bring it on, Cee!

Have you ever been a participant in a parade? What did you do?
Oh, I’ve “participated” in many parades–I’m a professional spectator!

If you were handed free opera tickets, would you go or sell them? Why?
I would grab a friend of mine who would probably love to go; I’d go, since I’ve never attended an opera.

Why did you start your blog?
I noticed blogs popping up everywhere–the newspaper, magazines, etc., and it looked like a fun thing to do. I don’t regret it for one moment!

What is your favorite tradition? (family tradition, church tradition, whatever)
Thanksgiving dinner with family

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming
Last week was such a blur, I can’t remember what happened! I’m thankful for a portable fan that can follow me from room to room. I’m looking forward to spending the weekend with our family at a race venue: Obstacle Course/5K/Obstacle Course for kids–several of them are participating. I hope to get some good pictures.

Our son-in-law celebrated his first year as an obstacle course (OCR) athlete. He’s even wearing the medal his kids gave him for Father’s day–after he completed the OCR they created in the backyard.
