Friday’s Hunt v2.17

Friday’s Hunt

This week the hunt is on for Starts with Q, Week’s Favorite, and Fall or Spring

This is part of a quilt I saw at MAQF 2016. I wish I’d gotten the artist information.

Breakfast at my favorite place, Panera Bread.

Fall, one of my favorite fall photos from Norfolk Botanical Garden.

Willy-Nilly Friday 5 No. 74

Willy-Nilly Friday 5

1. I realized I’ve not shared photos taken at the quilt show. This little quilt was made from printed panels. I fell for all those pretty birds. It was hanging in one of the vendor’s booths, so I didn’t get a nice, straight angle on it.

2. This was from a needle-felting kit I considered buying. When I found out I had to needle-felt my own dragonflies, I hesitated, considering I’ve not done that before. I did buy some needle-felting supplies at a previous show, so I need to practice a bit lot.

3. I experimented with a gluten-free recipe for pizzelles. Anyone want a pizzelle grill? Just kidding. I cleaned it.

4. Then I got the idea to make the batter into cookies and bake them. The first batch stuck to the baking sheet, so I used parchment paper for subsequent pans. The final one (not because I was out of batter, but out of patience) ended up like this when the parchment slid off the tray. The grandkids liked the cookies that did turn out OK. I think I’ll stick to bird photography, and maybe try my hand at needle felting; and leave the baking to Julie! (Check out her White Chocolate Irish Cream cupcakes!)

5. Here’s a sunset photo taken at our Town Center recently.

Friday’s Hunt

This week we’re looking for something that starts with J, week’s favorite photo, and a cuppa.

A favorite photo from this week is a quilt I saw at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival.

And here’s a huge cuppa found when we were strolling Fredericksburg’s Old Town.

Share Your World–2016 Week 8

Share Your World

Here are this week’s questions. I hope you’ll join in and share your responses.

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?
I can’t say I absolutely hate any of them, but floors are the hardest for me to do physically.

What was the last URL that you bookmarked?
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1YfqiL/:1CCTvSF5p:Lf$w_ICP/www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2894630/Get-fit-quick-six-simple-exercises-need-tone-15-minutes.html

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?
My feet say it’s time to take off my shoes and go barefoot.

Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?
I’ll take the countryside, please.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m glad we got to spend the weekend with family. I’m looking forward to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival later this week.

Linda James’ “Ascent to the Stars” Quilt

I see from some of your posts that many of you are still having snow, hail, and all kinds of bone-chilling weather. Today, I offer you another quilt to help keep you warm.

This one is by Linda James of North Carolina. Love her selection of colors.

Thanks for stopping by to look. I hope spring arrives for you SOON.

A warm blanket reminds me of my last trip to our daughter’s. Baby Z was ready for her nap and made her requests known. “Blue blanket. Dryer. Warm.” I think she has her big sister trained. Or her big sister has her spoiled.
