All Seasons–August 6, 2017

All Seasons

This is my favorite season–hiking season! I practically had all this beauty to myself. It was a peaceful journey–until something stirred up the Crows and Blue Jays. Traveled light, photos taken with iPhone 6 Plus.

You never know who you’ll meet along the way.

Woodland Box turtle
Sorry–poor quality photo of Red-spotted Purple butterfly. I don’t see these often, but I love the color variations.

Share Your World–January 23, 2017

Share Your World

Here are Cee’s questions, and my answers for this week. Hope you’ll Share Your World, too!

Do you prefer juice or fruit?
Fruit.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?
I’m guessing it would be considered a medium-size town. It was home, and I really didn’t know much about other areas.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?
Tabby and calico–I had a lot of cats.

Ways to Relax List: Make a list of what relaxes you and helps you feel calm.
Reading, art journaling, hiking, birdwatching

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for friends, and look forward to celebrating some January birthdays.

I hope you’ll share your answers in a post linked to  Cee’s blog, or in the comments below.

Friday’s Hunt v1.25

Friday’s Hunt

This week we’re looking for Starts with Y, our Week’s Favorite, and In My Shoes.

I’m starting with my favorite shot of the week:

Recently-fledged House Finch keeping balanced when mom brings lunch. The feathery tufts atop the head always make me smile.

Y is for Kai-le when she was Younger:

Photo courtesy of my daughter, taken 2012. I love her smile.

When these shoes are on, we’re going hiking!

Cee’s disclaimer: With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.

I write nonfiction, generally, so my answers are true-to-life. You can usually tell when my silliness takes over. I hope you’ll share your answers, too!

When do you feel most connected with others?
When I’m blogging (reading and writing) on a regular basis.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?
Oh, dear, I have enough daily habits! I need a habit to organize my habits.

What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?
I hope to have another hiking day at a state park.

List things or events that changed your life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?
Deciding to live a faith-filled life in Jesus Christ
Meeting the fella I now call Hubby
Becoming a mother, and a grandmother
Moving away from my hometown
Losing family and loved ones much too soon

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful hubby had a couple days off, worked on the house, and hiked with me; I look forward to reading your blog posts to see what you’ve been up to.Thanks for hosting, Cee!

Willy Nilly Friday 5 #43

Willy Nilly Friday 5 Randomness
Weekly Photo Challenge–Enveloped

1. Hubby was out of town for a long weekend. I finished filling boxes with items to donate, recycle, etc., loaded them into the car, and dropped them off. I’m still not seeing much progress. Surely I’m making some?

2. One day, when I go to Norfolk Botanical Garden, I want to forget about counting steps and spend some time here.
3. This is the view from there–with a painterly (filter) touch added.

4. Saturday I was enveloped by natural beauty at First Landing State Park.

5. I’m ready to go back. I’d like to explore more of this:

But, I’ll have to wait a few days. Our daughter requested my baby-sitting services–for her! It seems her wisdom teeth have to go. This may be my only post this week, but I’ll let you know when I get back–and then we’ll explore some more!
