Share Your World – 2016 Week 24

Share Your World

Mimosa tree in bloom

Message from Cee: With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world which may not always match our reality.

Here are Cee’s questions (and my answers) for this week. I hope you’ll share your world – Create a post and link to Cee’s blog, or leave your replies in the comments. Clicking the Share Your World image below this post will take you to her blog where you can meet others who participate, too.

What is the most fun thing you did in school?
Played outside on the merry-go-round, seesaws, and swings at recess.

What is your favorite type of dog?  (Can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal, or character in a movie.)
My heart belongs to Golden Retrievers, and Snoopy of the Peanuts comic strip runs a close second.

You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met.  Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?
If they are truly fascinating people, I would love to hear what they have to say.

Complete this sentence:  Never In My Life Have I…
…eaten sushi.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful I didn’t need stitches when I pruned my finger while pruning shrubs, and that the flashing-light symptoms in my eye were were not from a more serious cause; I look forward to attending the summer Bible study this week.

Share Your World–2015 Week 7

Share Your World

My world Monday night

Cee faithfully provides weekly questions so we can get to know each other. Here are her questions and my answers for this  snowy week of February. You can find more responses at her blog.

Is the paper money in your possession right now organized sequentially according to denomination and with the bills right side up and facing the same way?
Yes, what little I carry is filed in perfect order. The money had to be in order when I created corporate bank deposits, but I think I’ve always kept the bills in my wallet that way.

What is your favorite type of dog?  (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)
My heart belongs to Golden Retrievers.

If money was not an issue, would you go on a cruise?  If so where would you go?
No, I tend to experience motion sickness, so I’ll keep my feet on the ground.

Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight?
I doubt I would have any problem sleeping there.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful the power stayed on through the wind event that blew through here last week, and the branches that fell from the oak tree didn’t hit anything. I’m looking forward to straightening up some more of the house while snowed in–I know it won’t last long.

Share Your World–2014 Week 25

Time to SHARE YOUR WORLD! Cee posts four questions every week, helping those who participate in reading/writing/answering to get to know each other a bit better. I love the community this brings among bloggers. Click here to find out more. You can create a post and link to Cee’s blog, or I’d love to read your responses in the comments below.

What is your favorite type of dog?  (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal, drawing, cartoon or character in a movie or TV show)

Golden Retriever
I’ve always liked Snoopy from the Peanuts comic strip and cartoons. If a dog was in a movie I watched, you can bet there were tears.

Name one thing not many people know about you.

I’ve had toxoplasmosis and nearly lost vision in my right eye–but for the grace of God and a great doctor of ophthalmology.

Have you ever gone scuba diving?  If you haven’t, would you want to?

No, and probably not, though I did consider it at one time.

What was the most important event in your life last week? (anything goes it can be a good nights sleep, finished a reading book, winning the lottery, or getting married)

I was invited to join the devotional writing team on our church’s Facebook page.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for Taylor, my 19-year-old granddaughter, and her great attitude as she focuses on strict dietary and environmental disciplines on the road to health.

I’m looking forward to rearranging/reorganizing/decluttering our living room. It’s looking much better, but we cluttered up a couple other rooms in the house in the process.

Share Your World–2014 Week 20

Yesterday I posted Yarrow with buds. Some of you are unfamiliar with it, so here’s what it looks like now:

Yarrow with open blooms; attracts butterflies

And now, it’s time to Share Your World! Cee provides us with four questions each week so we can get to know more about each other. Let’s do it!

Question #1:
If you could go back and visit any time period, what time would you travel to and why?

I lost all my grandparents when I was quite young. I would visit the early 1900s and get to know them.

Question #2:
If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?  This is a time for you to dream and have fun.

1) I’d wish to read all of your blog posts all of the time. Of course, I’d need Spencer’s reading ability to do that. (Criminal Minds character)

2) Better yet–to visit with each and every one of you in person

3) I’d like to have my Golden Retriever back, but I don’t suppose the backyard birds would be happy about that.

Question #3:

Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?

Water

Question #4:
If you watch TV what are your favorite three television shows?

NCIS, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Voting was held Sunday following the church service and our interim pastor will now be our Pastor.

This week, I’m looking forward to the tenth anniversary party of our writers group, hubby having a long holiday weekend, and spending next week with our daughter and her family.

Now it’s your turn! I’d love to read your answers. You can create a blog post and link to Cee’s blog, or leave your responses in the comments below.

Share Your World–2013 Week 10

I’d LIKE to share my world right now. I would gladly send it somewhere else. The wind is howling, gusting to 60 mph (96 km) and the windows are doing the shake, rattle and roll. (That refers to a song from the 50s music era–among other things, I learned, thanks to Google).

Back to the business at hand, Cee has four questions for us this week.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

What was your most memorable birthday?

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

Personality-wise, I’d be a Golden Retriever. My owner could walk me on the beach and clean up the trail of sand left behind on the floor for days afterward.

My sign would say, “One Way.” (This reminds me of another song–I’m a very melodious Golden Retriever–have you noticed?

I don’t remember birthdays, but I remember some good cakes. 🙂

Finding comments on my blog and Facebook page, and personal emails. You are this old dog’s best friends, and I love you, unconditionally.

It’s your turn. You may answer in the comments below, or create your own post and link to Cee’s blog.

Share Your World–2013 Week 1

Oh, look! The new year and a new set of questions from CEE! Let’s go!

Do you prefer shopping or going to a park?

Music or silence while working?

If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?

Are you a collector of anything?

Shopping or going to the park?
On a beautiful day I’ll go to the park, inclement weather I will go shopping. Who says you can’t have it all? 😉

Music or silence while working?
That depends on what I’m doing, but I do love music.

Three wishes for me alone…
To live closer to my daughter and her family
To have another golden retriever
I’m stealing #3 from Tamara: Three more wishes!

A collector of anything?
Thimbles, art supplies, sewing supplies, books and journals…

Now it’s your turn. You may answer in the comment section below, or create your own blog post and link to Cee’s blog. Can’t wait to see what we have in common–or not.
