Friday’s Hunt v4.9

Friday’s Hunt

Sorry to skip out on you last week, we traveled again to celebrate another birthday–mine!

This week we’re looking for Starts with I, Bowl, and Desire.

Starts with I: Irrigation

One of my favorite pastimes is taking the road less traveled. What better birthday gift than a backroad cruise?

Sure, this is a platter, but I wouldn’t have minded having a bowl of this! I guess I didn’t have time to focus and get the entire word ‘birthday.’ Ha! Yes, I shared the calories with the kids.

The desire was strong to check out that hammock–but it was on personal property and we heeded the ‘No Trespassing’ sign. Isn’t this inviting? (Another ‘I’ word!) It’s surrounded by the Rappahannock River.

Friday’s Hunt v3.17

Friday’s Hunt

This week at Teresa’s, we’re looking for Starts with Q, Week’s Favorite, and Evening.

My camera is still at the shop, so I’ll be perusing the archives and iPhone for this week’s photos. Here goes!

Starts with Q: Quadrennium–a specified period of four years

Bailey Quinn achieved a quadrennium this past week, she’s now four!

Share Your World–2015 Week 45

Share Your World

Cee asks us to share our world with the following questions for this week. Please share your answers in the comments below, or create a post and link to Cee’s blog. We love to hear from you!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?
A visit with our daughter and her family.

What is your favorite time of day?
Waking in the morning to start a fresh, new day.

A new day lies ahead, I wonder what it will bring.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you want to have an evening with?
My hubby.

Complete this sentence: Something that anyone can do that will guarantee my smile is…
Receiving a text from one of our grandkids.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for an unseasonably warm day last week, and I look forward to celebrating the 21st birthday of our granddaughter, Taylor, this week.

Give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.
Proverbs 4:20-22

Random 5 Friday

Random 5 Friday

Here are my five random thoughts for this week:

1. The snow missed us last night! We had sleet and icy cold temperatures, but for the most part, roads were clear today. 50s forecast for this weekend.

2. Met hubby for lunch today. Yes, Panera.

3. The Norfolk Botanical Garden reopened at 10:00 a.m. this morning. It closed for a couple of days after a small plane missed the runway at the neighboring airport in dense fog and landed in the Enchanted Forest.

4. I saw juvenile Red-winged Blackbirds in the flock that visited this week. I don’t remember seeing them before.

Sorry for the rough photo. It was raining, and droplets dappled my window.

5. Tomorrow (3/7) is our daughter’s birthday. Happy birthday, Suzanne!

I can’t help but wonder what these two were up to.

It’s a busy week, we have a granddaughter’s birthday to celebrate! I know many of you are also preparing for Christmas; planning parties and fellowship with friends; cantatas; gifting and all that goes with it; travel…the list seems endless sometimes…so I just wanted to share a smile with you today.

In all the busyness, don’t forget where you hid your peanuts.

Frustration/Learning Patience/Building Character?

Please excuse the duplication/deletion. I’ve been determined to get the WordPress app on my iPad today. It has been just as determined to not allow me to open the app.  I went to the Forum and learned others are having the same issues, unable to log in, needing to update credentials, etc…

I finally gave up and created the post on the laptop. Still puzzled as to why I can use the app on my iPhone, but not the iPad, I was looking over the phone app and found the “draft” of the post I had created. Not liking clutter, I promptly deleted the draft, then later found out it deleted the post and the comments that had been made on it!

In case you missed the original post, we celebrated Taylor’s 19th birthday this past weekend with a snowball battle, in the house. We used “snowballs” I found at the Hallmark store that are safe for indoor use (won’t break things). I highly recommend them!
