Friday’s Hunt v1.25

Friday’s Hunt

This week we’re looking for Starts with Y, our Week’s Favorite, and In My Shoes.

I’m starting with my favorite shot of the week:

Recently-fledged House Finch keeping balanced when mom brings lunch. The feathery tufts atop the head always make me smile.

Y is for Kai-le when she was Younger:

Photo courtesy of my daughter, taken 2012. I love her smile.

When these shoes are on, we’re going hiking!

Friday’s Hunt v1.23: W, Week’s Favorite, Rough
Willy Nilly Friday 5 #85
Today’s Flowers #411
Skywatch Friday 2 June 2016 Edition

1. Welcome Home!

2. My favorite this week is a late-blooming Rhododendron. Half a shrub survives after a limb fell from the oak and took out the other half.

3. Ms. Mallard doesn’t seem to mind the rough old platform feeder.

4. Fledglings are showing up at the feeders and birdbaths.

5. Sky shot from a previous visit to Mt. Trashmore.

Friday’s Hunt v1.22

Friday’s Hunt

This week’s challenge is to find something for the letter ‘V,’ Week’s Favorite, and Sunshine. I’m glad we didn’t have the sunshine requirement before this, for there was little to be found!

I thought I might have to take up the violin, but then I remembered the trusty Vitex! This was taken in a previous year, as it hasn’t bloomed yet this spring.

My favorite this week was taken with my iPhone 6 Plus by my brother-in-law during our visit to Colonial Williamsburg.

I liked the sunshine on the horse’s mane in this shot. This, too, was taken in Williamsburg.

Share Your World – 2016 Week 16

Share Your World

Once again, it is question and answer time with Cee! She reminds us: With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality. I hope you’ll share your answers, too!

If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather wear: glasses or contacts?  Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I wear contact lenses when driving, or out and about. No lenses needed at home – except for watching television – which is when I wear glasses.

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
This sign at the botanical garden suits me as I try to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?
The only difficulties that come to mind were the adjustments from a small elementary school to “junior high,” now known as middle school, and the move from there into the even-larger high school.

Would you rather take a 1- or 2-week vacation with an organized tour or take a cruise of your choice?
Neither of those options appeal to me. I’d rather be on my own schedule, and preferably on dry land!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful to be an American with freedom to live life as I choose, I’m looking forward to Miss B turning three!

This week we are hunting for things that start with K, Week’s Favorite, and Flower.

K: Having fun on Uncle Mark’s kart

My favorite for this week is a Ring-billed Gull balancing on a light fixture.

The flower (Camellia) was found on a walk in one of the city parks.

Share Your World–2016 Week 10

Share Your World

Glad I caught my typo–almost titled this “Shave Your World.” Now, wouldn’t that have been interesting!

Cee also added this preface to her post:

“With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world and which may not always match our reality.”

Now, to her questions for this week:

What would you ask for if a genie granted you three wishes?

A presidential candidate worthy of the office and someone we could all support, no more disease or illness, my grandchildren to live within walking distance.

What experiences are most meaningful to you?

Quiet times hiking, observing nature, meditating.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A mom.

Complete this sentence:  The best day of my life was….

…the day I was born.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Grateful our son-in-law was able to pull off a surprise birthday party for our daughter this weekend, and we got to be there; looking forward to warm temperatures this week–perfect hiking weather!
