Patti’s interests are many: Bird-watching, butterfly gardening, photography, inspirational writing, paper and fiber arts–and blogging about them.
She lives in coastal Virginia with her hubby. They have one daughter, aΒ son-in-law, and seven grandchildren.
One of Patti’s favorite quotes is from Erma Bombeck, “When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.'”
To God be the glory.

It’s nice to read about you on your about page. I used to birdwatch with my former husband, now deceased. We spent hours of fun hiking and finding photos of the birds we saw. We had a bird feeder that a pair of cardinals visiting everyday for quite some time. Blessings to you, Patti…

Dear Ms. Patti,
Hello, this is Marantha Jenelle, from here on WordPress. I obtained your link from a post you responded to on “BeKindReWrite’s” blog about the query letters and I think you have also commented on one or two of my own posts. I wanted to meet you and see what you wrote or did, so I clicked on your link on bkrw’s blog. I hope you won’t mind.
It seems that you also are an artist, as well as a writer and blogger. I myself am sort of new at blogging, but as an artist and writer is where I am a little better. I would be very highly honored if you would contact me directly at words2ponder@gmail.com and perhaps share how your art and writing have enriched your life. I use both of them to help me manage the symptoms of my bi-polar disorder.
Please write soon. And I checked out both the Art Journal and Card page here on your blog and I must admit that I am both very impressed and, sigh, a little jealous too, you are very talented. I make cards, but I have a sort of unorthodox way of doing it, for I use not only the windows paint program, but open office org as well. I also custom create calendars, fliers, brochures (both half fold and tri-fold), and several other things using open office org. I would be glad to share notes if you would be willing.
I am currently trying to put together a little teaching thing that will share what I have learned about combining different elements of some of the programs that most people use every day or that they may already have on their computers. I will be making an actual pdf file of the finished results, which will be called “CREATIVE COMPUTING”.
May heaven richly bless you,
Marantha

patti, howdy from a ‘voice from the past’. i just composed something at two thirty this morning and since it is about writers and muses, i thought you might enjoy it…
MY SPECIAL CHILD
A very special thing occurred
When my muse came to me today
She gifted me with a special child
Who in my mind began to crawl and play.
The child at first crawled here and there
Through the winding corridors of my mind
Picking up and teething on
Any idea βtoysβ that it did find.
The words my muse whispered to me
Through my mind did ebb and flow
As my child drank from that magical spring
It slowly began to grow and grow.
Now and then my special child
Would sulk or throw a fit
Then I would send it to βtime outβ
βTill it calmed down a bit.
My precious child grew in fits and bursts
Till it outgrew the home of my mind
Then it kindly asked if it could go out
Adventures for to seek and find.
βTwas on that day that I realized
My precious child had come of age
So I set it free to run and play
Upon the screen and page.
My child shared with me its adventures
Whispering them day and night
As my child continued to grow
Those adventures I did write.
Then one day my child came to me
With a solemn look upon its face
It thanked me for helping it to grow
As into my hands a gift it did place.
My child told me that the time had come
It must its future go to seek
It gave me a warm loving hug
Then placed a kiss upon my cheek.
I sadly watch my child walk away
Then I remember its gift
I gaze down at what my hands are holding
As tears down my cheeks begin to drift.
A note is placed upon the top
I open it and take a look
βDearest mother, Iβll always be with you
In the pages of this book.β
