Friday’s Hunt v4.9

Friday’s Hunt

Sorry to skip out on you last week, we traveled again to celebrate another birthday–mine!

This week we’re looking for Starts with I, Bowl, and Desire.

Starts with I: Irrigation

One of my favorite pastimes is taking the road less traveled. What better birthday gift than a backroad cruise?

Sure, this is a platter, but I wouldn’t have minded having a bowl of this! I guess I didn’t have time to focus and get the entire word ‘birthday.’ Ha! Yes, I shared the calories with the kids.

The desire was strong to check out that hammock–but it was on personal property and we heeded the ‘No Trespassing’ sign. Isn’t this inviting? (Another ‘I’ word!) It’s surrounded by the Rappahannock River.

  1. I am laughing at the words isn’t it delightful because it would require a gun to my head for me to even walk on that dock and even with the gun I would not get in the hammock. not only do I fear water, and docks with no railings I have a fear of hammocks even on dry land. I know, I am weird.. hubby would love it and would spend happy hours on it. happy belated birthday, mine is next Tuesday, the 5th and I will be 29 also. ha ha

    1. Wanting to be on that dock and actually getting there might be two different stories, Sandra. Had to laugh at “gun to your head.” Hubby said he probably wouldn’t go out there, either. Is Bob “relaxing” today?

  2. “Backroad cruise”… I like it! We used to have a hammock on our dock when we lived at the Lake of the Ozarks and I loved it… nothing better in fall than to be in that hammock with our cat and a good book! Your birthday dessert looks delicious!

  3. Happy Birthday, Patti (again, but late this time)!!! I’m thinking that you rode a motorcycle on that backroad. I would have. Or put the top down or take the old Mustang and put the sun roof back. The dessert looked really great, chocolate for the children!!!

    1. Thanks, Jim! No, we no longer own a motorcycle, but there was a time we would have been on it. I had a memorable last ride, with the heat from the engine of a Mack truck on my back. Sunroof open, yes! Dessert was yummy!

  4. Hope you had a wonderful birthday Patti! The dock looks like a perfect place for champagne and cheers but I’ll bet you found a great spot anyway, especially on the “backroads cruise.”

  5. Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a great day. The dessert looks wonderful. I remember seeing those kinds of irrigation systems all the time in Iowa, but now that I am back in Canada, I never see them anymore. They probably have them in other parts of the country, but not around here. That hammock looks divine, I would spend hours in it, reading and enjoying the fresh breezes.

  6. Well, I’m late wishing you a happy birthday! Looks like it was quite the enjoyable drive. I would love to spend a lovely afternoon enjoying the river on that nice little dock. Thanks so much for joining Friday’s Hunt. Sorry to be so late in visiting.
