Share Your World–2016 Week 50

Share Your World

Cee has questions prepared for us on this rainy Monday morning. I was surprised how warm it felt (mid-50s) when I stepped out to the mailbox–a great day to finish shopping–until I heard the deluge of rain a few minutes later. While we wait for that to calm a bit, let’s Share Your World!

What is your favorite smell? What memory does it remind you of?
My mom’s fresh-from-the-oven yeast rolls and the family and friends who gathered around the kitchen table to enjoy them.

What type of pet do you have or want to have?
I’d love to have another bunny. For now, my “pets” are the critters that visit the backyard–birds, squirrels, a wild bunny (or two), and opossum!

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?
I prefer to be right on time.

For recharging, would you rather meditate, swim, walk, listen to music, write, read, yoga, qigong, other?
I would choose a walk in the woods.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
We attended a lovely employer-provided Christmas party–and hubby came home with the Employee of the Year award! I’m looking forward to checking “done” on more items on my Christmas to-do list.

Friday’s Hunt

Our prompts this week are Starts with X, Week’s Favorite, and Lights. Whose idea was it to put an ‘X’ in the alphabet, anyway? I thought a selfie of my X-hausted self might be my entry for that one–but thanks to my love of needlework, I have an embroidery sampler that includes X-stitch. (Cross stitch)

Week’s Favorite: I finally got that little yellow rump!

Yellow-Rumped Warbler

Lights: Town Center aglow for the holidays

Willy Nilly Friday 5

It’s been awhile since I’ve participated with this meme. There’s been little time for visiting, so I hesitate to link-up. Maybe this week will be better.

1. Things are nutty as ever around the Big Backyard. Squirrelly, too!

2. Uh-oh! What’s this?

The Carolina Wren appears to have laid claim to the potting bench. dscn4739

3. We’ve had some frosty nights, yet I continue to find little surprises in the garden.

4. It rained nearly all day. Of course, this was the day I needed a few things from the grocery store. I brewed a chocolate hazelnut latte for the road and made an afternoon of it. Since I had to be out anyway, I returned some items to the mall that I’d ordered online. They’d been crushed during shipment due to poor packaging. And, I stopped by Hobby Lobby since I was in the neighborhood. Take that, rain!

5. I don’t have the Christmas tree up yet, nor the wreath on the door, no cards ready to mail–but I do have most of the shopping done. Then there’ll be wrapping to do…How are your winter holiday preparations coming along?

Share Your World–2016 Week 48

Share Your World

The Spirea Japonica has a rather colorful outlook on life since the frost.

Cee has our questions, are you ready?

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?
I’m nutty for nuts!

If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
If they followed me around all day with a camera, it would surely be a comedy of errors.

Who talks real sense to you?
My husband. He’s detail-oriented and thoroughly thinks through everything.

Do you have a favorite board game?

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for the time spent with family, time to finish a couple projects around the house, and celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. I look forward to resting up from last week–and the weather has been wonderful–70s today!

I hope you’ll share your answers, too! Here’s the link-up if you want to see more:
