Share Your World–2015 Week 52

Share Your World

Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.)
Sunny, gale force winds (housework hurricane)

What is most memorable about your high school years?
I had Typing class near lunchtime. On pepperoni roll day, the aroma wafted from the cafeteria to our third-floor classroom. Our teacher sent a classmate to pick up
fresh-from-the-oven rolls for us.

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewerly?
My mom collected pretty rocks she’d find. I used some of them to create a butterfly oasis in our garden.

Complete this sentence:  I like watching…
Birds and other wildlife; my grandchildren’s activities; football

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful to get to spend Christmas with family. I look forward to getting the house back in order this week–and the return of my camera!

I Should Be…

I Should Be…

…looking for my to-do list, because I’m lost without it. Maybe I’m done?

…sleeping, with visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.

…writing a Share Your World post, but Cee gave us the week off.

…hearing the phone ring with an estimate to repair my camera on the other end. Tracking shows it was received Friday morning. Does anyone have experience to share as to how long until that call comes?

…making pizzelles.

…wrapping presents. Could the “elf” be waiting until the last minute?

…working on two gifts that aren’t finished.

…creating blog posts, but I think I’m going to take this week off.

…wishing you all the best in this season of celebrations.

…back Monday, Dec. 28, and will visit you this week as time allows.

Here’s a shot of the project hubby and his brother have been working on. A huge tree on their dad’s property split and fell, crushing one of his sheds.

I thought the Christmas shopping was done, then hubby showed up with a list! I told him to pack his bag and get outta town. (Not really, he was planning to visit his dad this weekend, anyway–and spend another day with his brother removing the tree that fell on their dad’s shed.) Then I needed something from Michael’s to finish a project. I hope all your plans are coming together–as planned! Here are my five for this week.

1. We’ve seen some amazing skies this week.

Competition–It looks like the parking lot light is trying to compete with the sun. iPhone at Town Center

2. I saw the Painted Bunting, male, again today.

Panasonic DMC-FZ5 My first digital camera. I sure do miss my Nikon! Thankfully, the feeders are closer to the window now.

3. Things got a little noisy around the birdbath.

European Starlings and Grackles

4. We’re making sure everyone cleans up their act for the holiday parties. Did you wash behind your ears?

5. Yet another avid bird watcher showed up.

It had a very pretty, fluffy white face, but turned away for the mug shot.

Good Fences #91

Good Fences #91

We took advantage of the unseasonably warm day Sunday and went to the botanical garden. The airport appeared to be busy from the sound of things, so we headed to the scenic overlook to observe. We were surprised to find this plane sitting so close, with a crew working on it. In looking through photos this evening, I was happy to see a fence positioned in front of it!

This was taken with my cell phone as the sun was setting. I need to take advantage of the course to improve iPhone photography!
