Willy Nilly Friday 5 #59

1. Yesterday I shared a photo from Mirror Lake (at the botanical garden). Here’s another one from that area.

2. After Mirror Lake I walked to the Enchanted Garden, but felt some of the enchantment was missing. Then I saw this!

3. Here’s a fun project at the garden this year–frames mounted near scenic views, prompting participants to shoot and share their photos. Pictured is the Japanese Garden.

4. Two more unexpected blossoms, and I liked the tangle of branches here.

5. As I headed out of the garden, I saw a pair of sun dogs (parhelia–a bright spot in the sky appearing on either side of the sun, formed by refraction of sunlight through ice crystals high in the earth’s atmosphere).

That’s all the randomness for this week. Linking to:

Share Your World–2015 Week 43

Share Your World

If you were on a debate team, what general subject would you relish debating?
This is easy, I’d never be on a debate team in the first place. That’s not my cup of tea. 😉

What’s your strongest sense?
Does my sense of humor count?

What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Lost and Found

List your favorite flavors or types of tea.
Vanilla Chai is at the top of the list, but it’s a long list.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
The installation is done and we have heat! Looking forward to the return of my regularly-scheduled life.

1. Finally! Life returns to normal. As I sit snuggled in my recliner, I realize I’ve taken for granted the peace that surrounds me day-to-day. This week my world quaked as the old furnace in the hall closet and ductwork, which have been part of this house for 50 years, were disassembled and ripped out by two fast-moving men. In and out and underneath the house, back and forth from room to room–I just tried to stay out of their way. The new unit resides outside, thereby making the indoors much quieter. An unexpected blessing, to be sure.

2. A big thanks to Dianna at These Days of Mine, I finally saw the International Space Station last night! Recently, she posted a link where one could sign up to receive a text message when the ISS could be viewed in one’s area.

3. The SSAT–Stamp Scrap and Art Tour will be in Hampton, VA this weekend. I haven’t attended the last couple of years, but might hop on over there. Anyone else going? Has anyone attended a different venue?

4. A female Eastern Towhee stopped by for a snack. My last Towhee sighting was in June, a juvenile male.

5. I’ve seen more sunrises this week than I have in several years. No, I’m not a morning person. It was nice to sleep in this morning.
