Wild Bird Wednesday #163

Wild Bird Wednesday

This may well be the last shot of my little Ruby-throated Hummingbird friend. I haven’t seen it the past couple of days, so it’s likely on its way to South America for the winter.

I kept a keen eye on the feeder today, just in case it was still around. I saw something with a shimmer of green fly toward the feeder, but it appeared to land on the support pole. Binoculars in hand, I looked closely, and found not a hummingbird, but a cicada.
