Wild Bird Wednesday #146

Wild Bird Wednesday

An American Robin, male, was preening his feathers recently.

I think I missed a feather.

I know it’s in here somewhere.

Ahhh, much better.

The feathers on the female’s head are mostly gray, matching the feathers on the upper back. You can see a photo by clicking the previous blue link, scroll down to “Field Marks.”

  1. I enjoy watching birds tidy up their feathers and then do a big stretch! The Robins in our yard are very busy feeding babies… it’s crazy here! Great pictures of a pretty bird… that rust colored chest!
