Willy Nilly Friday 5

Willy Nilly Friday 5

Time for our weekly randomness!

1. Last weekend we decided to visit some antique shops we pass by regularly, but never have the time to stop. I found eight Pfaltzgraff stemmed glasses to go with our Folk Art dishes.

I have four solid blue ones from eBay, but hadn’t seen any with this flower pattern. I wonder if someone decorated them.

We found another treasure, I’ll share that next time–when I hopefully have more information about it.

2. I made a white chocolate latte this morning. When I removed it from the microwave, there was something floating on top–an earwig! That kind of ruined my desire for a cup of coffee.

3. We recently got a rhododendron to replace one that failed to survive the winter. It’s isn’t in the ground yet, but that didn’t stop it from blooming.

4. The azaleas are open, too.

5. I’ll be at my daughter’s next week, so posts may be hit-or-miss. I’ll stop by and visit you when I can.

Thanks for hosting, Tanya. For more Willy Nilly randomness, click here.

Have a great weekend!

Good Fences #57, Thankful Thursday, Skywatch Friday

Good Fences #57
Thankful Thursday
Skywatch Friday

I’m thankful for this place I call home.

I love the feel of bare feet on warm sand,
Water tossed to and fro, changed by the weather at hand.
Sea breezes ask tendrils of hair to dance.
For all these things I offer praise, and thanks.

Share Your World–2015 Week 16

Share Your World

Miss B, photo courtesy Suzanne McElvy

Cee’s been busy this week, rounding up more questions for us. I hope you’ll share your answers, too! Create a post and click the Share Your World button, or leave your replies in the comments below. I enjoy sharing with you, and getting to know you.

What are your favorite spices?
The spices I use most are cinnamon, cumin, garlic, and Italian blends.

What object do you always have with you when traveling and why?
Aside from my phone, I always keep a tennis ball (in a sock) in my car. It’s one of those physical therapy tools I learned of that allows me to massage tight back muscles while driving.

What is one thing you love about being an adult?
I can stay up as late as I want.

What item, that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?
I’m considering a food processor. Anyone have info they’d like to share? Do you use one/what you like about it/what you dislike?

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for all of you who’ve visited my blog while I have been preoccupied with writing deadline/home/garden/life and haven’t been able to visit yours as I would like.

I look forward to Miss B’s second birthday and spending time with family.

Random 5 Friday

Random 5 Friday

1. A recycling event takes place at Mount Trashmore Saturday. I should be helping hubby…

2. Today’s been a productive day–paperwork, card-making, a little weeding, feeder scrubbing, birdbath filling–I even vacuumed before going out to play. My back is doing much better!

3. I should have taken pictures–I potted dwarf marigolds and sedum. Will have to post those next week.

4. This week, someone purchased a winning lottery ticket about a block from our house–$3,000,000!

5. Our son-in-law was cleared by his doctor earlier this week to run a 50-mile race tomorrow (Saturday). He’d had a stress fracture in his leg. Go Charlie!

Have a great weekend! Hubby says there’s a trip to Lowe’s and/or Home Depot in our future. Do you have plans?
