Thankful Thursday

This week, I’m thankful to have a local botanical garden, and good friends to share the experience. I could walk there for hours surrounded by the beauty of creation–immersed in flowers and butterflies. And I don’t have to weed it!

    • The butterfly house is open until September, I think. I don’t know why we haven’t visited much, it’s a great place to walk, and always something different to see each season.

    • Nice! We’ll be going past Winchester before too long. A quick trip, don’t know if there’ll be time to visit the gardens there. Might have to go sometime, though. Thanks for letting me know.

    • It is a restful place to wander. I started to pull weeds out of our catmint bed and found a caterpillar on one. Need to figure out what kind of caterpillar it is, but decided to leave the “host” plants intact until then. That’s my excuse, anyway.

  1. Lovely images! And not having to weed even more wonderful! Especially in the heat of the summer (like it is now for us). The only thing missing is a cup of tea and a good book. πŸ™‚

  2. Weeding is really a job, isn’t it? The temperature is 109 in our backyard today. We did not weed today. Cannot skip too many days. Glad you had time and opportunity to enjoy a walk through the botanical garden. Blessings to you…

    • It is a job! We have the black fabric down under the mulch in most areas, but we had to cut sections out of it for perennials to spread. The weeds found their way through, too. I can’t imagine weeding when it’s 109, Carol Ann. Be careful out there. Blessings to you.
