Around the Backyard

We’ve been seeing a lot of this lately:

And they always come hungry!

And they always come hungry!

Here you can see the red flashes of the Red-winged Blackbirds:

There are a lot of Brown-headed Cowbirds in this flock.

European Starlings join in the fray:

Hopefully, they’ll remember where we are when the mosquitoes return.

Starlings have a way of cleaning out the feeder to make sure everyone gets something to eat:

And the squirrel is happy to clean up after them.

The bunny still visits daily, usually early in the morning (hubby says so), or late evening–sometimes middle of the night.

Thanks for stopping by! Would you like a cup of White Chocolate Peppermint tea? That’s my new favorite. Hubby tried it, now I have to SHARE!
Yikes! It’s almost the weekend!

    • I have a couple feeders with cages around them so the starlings can’t get to the seed, suet, peanuts and peanut butter. (One of them has four little bowls). I got a small hopper feeder this year that allows seeds to drop to the ground through a little trough so the sparrows have seeds falling from above when a starling is ransacking the place looking to see if there’s anything in there it likes.

  2. I love your bird photos, especially getting them in action. A friend of mine has bird feeders in her back yard. I love to sit and watch them. I have taken a few photos, too.

  3. White chocolate peppermint tea! Yummy. It’s a good thing you don’t offer the birds white chocolate peppermint tea. Well, maybe they wouldn’t like it as well as we do. Blessings…
