Friday Fictioneers–17 January 2014

Our hostess, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, has a new photo prompt for Friday Fictioneers this week, thanks to Erin Leary. My 100-word story follows her lovely picture. Won’t you join us?

In a dark moment of the soul, Raven stepped in front of the rapidly approaching headlamps. Unable to avoid her, Mike’s car picked her up, flipped her across the hood and into the windshield. He flung open the door and ran to her aid. He recognized the dark-haired beauty, a former varsity cheerleader, the girl everyone wanted to be, or be with. He kept a vigil at her bedside the following months, wondering what twist of fate had brought them together that night. He made up his mind. He would ask her to marry him. As soon as she awakens.

  1. This fellow is a tad presumptuous. If I woke up from a coma to find the person who ran me down sitting there, I’d clobber them with the I.V. pole!
Of course sometimes the outrageous move is the one that works.

  2. Dear Patti,

I think he’s something of a cockeyed optimist. πŸ˜‰ I think she has some deep-seeded issues that could hinder the relationship if she does wake up and accept his proposal. .A good story, though…well written.

  3. i just hope she wakes up! and if and when she forgives him and they fall inlove, that’d be one heck of a story to tell the grandkids someday πŸ™‚ well done
