    • It still needs work, kaybee, a lot of gaps to be filled. That’s the tricky thing about perennials, one year it appears to have everything in place, and the next year some of them forget to show up. I’m glad you took the time to stop by. Will be by to visit your blog soon.

    • Thanks, Trisha. I had the planter for the succulent garden tucked away in the attic. I saw one at the garden center and decided to make my own this year. I like that it doesn’t require much attention. 🙂

  1. You have such a wonderful back yard. I love daisies. They are one of my favorite flowers. And cardinals remind me of my grandfather, who loved painting them.

I love when you catch pictures of insects and other creepy crawly things, and the birds. They are some of my favorites. Your gardens are beautiful 🙂

  2. I love the photo of the little Downy Woodpecker, they’re one of my favorites. They are so better behaved at the feeders than the other woodpeckers.

    • Downies are fun to watch, Candice, and they’re so tiny compared to other woodpeckers. We’ve only had the Red-bellied variety aside from the Downies. They seemed well-mannered, would come for peanuts or suet balls, didn’t seem to bother the other birds, and waited patiently for the opportunity to swoop in, grab a bite and leave. We had pair of them for a couple years, then the female only.

  3. It takes a lot of hard work to produce such a beautiful garden. That got me to thinking. Why do we call them yards? Garden is such a such more descriptive and more apt word, don’t you think? 🙂
