Crape Myrtles are in full bloom, bestowing their beauty and fragrance freely. Their peeling bark caught my eye as I walked to my car after church this morning.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away, all things are made new. God made him (Jesus–who had no sin) to be sin for us, so that in Him, we could become the righteousness of God and be reconciled to Him.Let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles. Father God, remove our doubts and fears, and fill us with a fresh, new faith.

I am going to have to check our crepe myrtles, I don’t think they are shedding or have ever done that. Interesting. Beautiful post for “Fresh”!
Good Morning Patti!
We don’t have any in our yard, but the city used them to line streets and medians. The whole city appears to be in bloom! I’ve noticed the shedding when out walking, but didn’t pay much attention to when it happened. Good morning, Pix! Our internet went out during a storm Monday, now I’m even further behind! Have a wonderful Tuesday!
I am always fascinated by trees. This one with peeling bark is interesting. I like the Bible verse that related to the peeling away of the old bark very well. Let us lay aside all that hinders… Blessings to you, Patti…
My crepe myrtles are leaving little bark bundles in my front yard, too. I love how smooth the are underneath the old “skin,” just like we are when we leave behind the old and embrace the new. Love the Bible verses.
That was beautiful. I will never look at my crepe myrtles again the same way.

Perfect, Patti. I don’t ever recall our crape myrtles shedding as much as they are this year.

I didn’t realized they shed at the same time as blooming, Dianna.

Isn’t it funny, the things we see, and take for granted that everyone knows about it? Glad to show you something new, Nancy.

Thanks, Renee. We see the raspberry-colored ones most here, and a few white ones. What color(s) do you have?

Thanks, Susan. Crape Myrtles make a statement with their presence, so worth the clean-up–but then, I don’t have one. 😉
