Resurrection Day

Today I’m sharing a post from Bill at Unshakable Hope regarding Easter and the resurrection–The Greatest Event in History. Please pay him a visit, good stuff.

Unshakable Hope

What would your answer be if you were asked to name thegreatestevent in the history of the world?

I suspect that your answer would depend on your overall worldview. A Christian, who fully understands the Gospel message, would say that the resurrection of Christ was the greatest event in history. But I don’t think any non-Christians would agree with that answer. Regardless of what their religious or ideological beliefs might be, all non-Christians have one thing in common; they don’t believe in the resurrection of Christ.

Lee Strobel has been a follower of Christ and a well-known Christian apologist for over 30 years. Before becoming a Christian, Lee was an award-winning investigative journalist and the legal editor for the ChicagoTribune. He was also a self-professed “drunk” and an “angry atheist.”  His wife, Leslie, was agnostic when they married, but later became a Christian. Leslie’s…

Good Friday

It was the night of the Passover dinner. Matthew 26:26-28 places us at the table with Jesus and his disciples.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”  And he took a cup (wine), and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,  for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus was telling them He was the Lamb that would be sacrificed, once for all, the guarantor of a new covenant to bring eternal redemption to those who would believe in Him.

Share Your World–2013 Week 13

It’s time to Share Your World! Cee has FIVE questions this week–the usual four and a query

She would like to know whether to continue Share Your World, or if you are tired of it.

I’ve not been participating very long, and I’m having fun with it.

What one word describes you best?

Domesticated.

If you were to treat yourself to the “finer things,” what would you treat yourself to?

I would hire a housekeeper.

Is there a language you would like to learn?

I would take a refresher course in Spanish since I studied it three years in high school.

What is the favorite blog post you have written? (please feel free to add a link)

I used to participate with “Inspiration Monday.” Stephanie provides five writing prompts to choose from to create a blog post. One week, I managed to use all five prompts in mine. It was fun to write, so that is what I’ve chosen to share:

Wild Bird Wednesday–House Finch

House finches can be found all over North America, and Hawaii. I watched this female flutter her wings, like a young bird does for food. It seemed too early in the season for a young bird, so I did some research and found this is also courting behavior. The female will flutter her wings and the male will feed her. It must be love!

Another Monday Mix

We had a productive weekend. Saturday we worked really hard at doing nothing, watched part of an NCIS marathon. I thought we would have seen all the episodes by now, but some we haven’t seen pop up occasionally. Sunday we made a grocery run. We hoped to beat the rain, but it arrived earlier than anticipated. Then it turned to a rain/snow mix. No accumulation. I hope those of you north and west of us fared well with the snow that came your way.

A goldfinch came by last week, sporting a few bright yellow feathers.

A pair of cardinals also paid us a visit.

The yellow-rumped warbler was camouflaged by the new leaf growth.
