Something New for November

If you were following this blog a year ago, you might remember my participation in NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. (There are a couple posts in the “Writing” category to the right relating to it, if you are interested.) The goal was to write 50,000 words during the month of November–the idea being to get a good start on a novel or other writing project, and establish the discipline to write every day.

With much work yet to do on last year’s project, this year I think I might try something different–NaNoJouMo

My friend, Trece, at Simply Trece posted this reminder to “Journal Your Art Out” during the month of November.

This sounds like fun! Anyone else interested?

    1. November was tough, being a busy time of year with holidays and lots of family birthdays. They have Camp NaNo (new this year) that was held during the summer. I hope you can find a good time to give it a shot, TBM.

    1. It’s not the same group sponsoring it, Renee, but they are playing on the popular name. I think there are others, but can’t remember what they are right this minute. I’m looking forward to doing something besides words to give my tired old brain a rest! 😉

    1. It’s art journaling, Dianna, you make it whatever you want it to be. Stampington has a magazine by that name, or you can Google “art journal.” There’s one for any type of medium, graphite, paint, watercolor, mixed media…

  1. Wish I could. They’ve given me another course to finish out this term and I’m just hoping I can eek out one post a week much less two.
I’m glad you’re inspired and I look forward to seeing what you do.

  2. I have no idea who decided to do NaNoWriMo in November, but for me, that’s not really the best time to pile on a 50,000-word writing challenge. (I’d suggest a month that wasn’t so busy, but I can’t think of one right now 🙂

This journal one is a new one for me. I don’t think I’d do it, but if you do, I hope you write about the experience!

    1. Thanks, Janna. November doesn’t seem like a very good month to buckle down and write 50,000 words. I still use that as my excuse for being a month behind on everything else at this point. 🙂 They do have a Camp NaNo for June, I think. That was just added this year.

    1. Thanks, Arindam. After NaNoWriMo last year, this is looking easy. 🙂 All I have to do is scribble! A friend told me about this one last year, but the writing was more than enough for a month!
