Hope Rises in a Sunset

Sunsets beckon this time of year. That burst of color at the end of the day perks up an otherwise-drab landscape.

The earth draws in warmth from the sun, and holds the heat like kindling.

Soon the trees and grasses will dispel the deadness and spring forth with new life. May this be true of us, also.

Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord. You have put more joy in my heart than when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly. In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.
–Psalm 4: 6-8

  1. Reading your post at 2:00 in the morning after hours battling an Alzheimer’s episode, I thank you for your thoughtful words and the verse from the Bible I needed to hear as I fall asleep. Blessings to you, Patti…

  2. I can’t wait for spring! The warmth of this photo makes me miss it all the more! Beautiful shot… spectacular sky… and the twinkle of those lights is the perfect finishing touch! Love it!

  3. This is such a beautiful shot! I agree with what you said about the sunset brightening up an otherwise drab day in winter. It has been utterly drab here for quite awhile. Thanks for sharing a bit of sunset cheer! ~ Lynda
