Word a Day–Training

The world went by, and we didn’t get caught up in all the other things, because we didn’t have time. We had no spare time. It was always thinking about training and focusing on what we wanted, our goals.–Peggy Fleming

If you’d seen me this past weekend, you might have thought I was training to be a perpetual Christmas party attendee.

Saturday we were invited to a neighbor’s open house, Sunday was hubby’s company Christmas party. Both involved food, fellowship, food, and more food. We had a nice time at both festivities, but I don’t think I want to step on the scale again any time soon!

With that in mind, Peggy Fleming’s quote will be good inspiration for 2012. I tend to get “caught up in all the other things,” and end up wasting time, and not accomplishing things I’d like to do. I gave up making resolutions a few years ago, as they tended the be the same things year after year, but I failed to faithfully focus on bringing them to fruition.

2012 is going to be different. I feel the determination inside, have a clear idea as to what is important, and realize it won’t get done, otherwise. 2012 is going to be a year of training myself to focus on specific changes in my creative life and to take my health and fitness to the next level.

How about you? Do you have goals or aspirations for the new year? What are the steps you plan to take for a successful transition?
