Word A Day–Originate

Where are you from? Or maybe I should ask, from where did you originate?

At some point in each life, there will arise
a longing in the heart.
We ponder from whence we came, and
and where we got our start.

It may appear as a deep homesickness
drawing us to the past.
It might possibly feel like a loss, and
it’s a feeling that will last.

We will try to fill that void
with every earthly means.
But nothing may be found to satisfy
until God intervenes.

He will pluck us from our pit
and save us from what mires.

For it is Him alone Who lights the fire
and kindles our heart’s desires.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 (NLT)–Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)–Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

  1. Patti, how inspiring is your post today. Manna for a hungry heart. Our Orlando church has an ultrasound machine, and it is a blessed tool in saving the lives of babies. Once a young woman sees her living infant, her heart attaches to her child. Thank you for starting my day with the Word of God. Blessings to you…
