Sunsets and Distractions

The sky was so colorful one evening, I grabbed the camera to capture it thinking surely this was theĀ  prettiest sunset ever. The picture does not do it justice. And while I saw only the expanse of sky and the brilliant colors, the viewfinder was distracted by the overhead wires and street lights of the city. Looking at it now, I realize that it describes life for a lot of us. Our days are divided into segments, time is blocked out here for this activity, there for another, large and small, they eat up a 24-hour day. And then I started feeling trapped. There was this great expanse of sky, space to freely float among the clouds, but I was entangled in a snare, held back, confined. Suffocating. What is holding us back? What keeps us from flying freely, growing, expanding and becoming? Let us shake off those self-imposed restrictions and BE what we were born to be. Each of us was created for a very special purpose. Have you found yours? Don’t stop asking, seeking, and knocking until you do. Once you have found your purpose, you will find fulfillment, satisfaction, and contentment. This is my wish for you. Seek ye first the kingdom of God…and all these things will be added unto you. You have His word on it; and He keeps His promises!
